Physical Activity Leadership

Learn how to facilitate quality physical activities – whatever your own fitness level may be. Realize the importance of including everybody and practice ways to do it. Get equipped with specific details such as how to lead warm-ups and track heart rates. Discover advanced ideas for making the most of limited time and resources, such as how to incorporate math and literacy with physical activity.

Physical Activity Leadership℠ (PAL) training is a simple, fun and highly interactive workshop designed to educate participants on what a quality physical activity is and how to conduct it. Rather than providing yet another curriculum, PAL teaches individuals—including teens and college students, parents, teachers and other youth-serving professionals—how to maximize the resources, space and equipment available to them to lead safe, meaningful, and fun physical activities. PAL also enhances individuals' abilities to utilize a curriculum, such as Spark, CATCH, or Sport4All.

PAL training participants learn to: 

- Lead purposeful physical activities with youth of various ages/skill levels 

- Design/modify physical activity programs using available resources 

- Increase program impact by applying sound youth development principles 

- Understand and practice Success Strategies in personal and professional situations 

- Improve communication and interpersonal and skills 

- Build confidence as a youth role model

Teens and adults trained not only learn various quality physical activities and fitness principles themselves, but how to assist younger generations and others in their community to become more physically active and lead healthier lifestyles.

PAL workshops are presented as one full-day session or two half-day sessions. They can be delivered to youth service organizations, corporate groups, or individual participants. A World Fit For Kids! (WFIT) also provides follow-up training and consulting to support participants in building on their knowledge and expertise.
