Tip of the Week
Corner store calories.
Did you know that spending $1 at the local corner store before or after school can add up to 360 extra calories a day? Studies say that kids most often purchase chips, soft drinks, candy, and gum. Trade that bag of chips in for a healthier, more energizing snack!
Snack smart.
Snacks are a great way to get re-energized in the middle of the day, especially if they are good for you! Choose snacks from different food groups—for example, a glass of low-fat milk and a few graham crackers, an apple or celery sticks with peanut butter and raisins, or some dry cereal.
Stroll it out.
Walking just 10 minutes a day can help increase your health and fitness level. Studies show even short bouts of exercise increases your fitness level.
Energy Break!
For every 1 hour of work, take a 5-minute break to stretch or walk. You’ll feel more energized all day!
