WORLDFIT WINS THE GOLD MEDAL!
Top Spotlight Award goes to A World Fit for Kids!
A World Fit for Kids! has won
the Spotlight Award Gold Medal from the
CA Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports "for
positively impacting the physical activity, fitness and well-being
of California's children
and youth". Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger presented the
medal at a
ceremony in Los Angeles on September 18th.
"Kids are our future", said Kevin Sorbo, WORLDFIT
Board Chair /
Spokesperson. "A World Fit For Kids! gives them the opportunities
and
experiences to realize their true potential and fulfill their
dreams.
It's a better world for us all."
"It's really an honor to win this award", added Normandie
Nigh, WORLD
FIT Executive Director. "Our work helps young people, their
families and
communities become more active, healthy and successful".
The Spotlight Awards are presented annually to individuals,
organizations, companies, schools and events that have the greatest
impact on the fitness and well-being of young people in California.
WORLDFIT was the Gold Medal winning organization, chosen from
among hundreds of nominees state-wide.
On September 25, WORLDFIT was presented with a check for $10,000
at
Dodger Stadium during a special presentation. "Our mission
is to inspire and
enable young people to be fit and fulfilled", said Nigh.
"This money
will help us to pursue our mission, and expand our reach and
impact
throughout California".
