Kevin was interviewed by TV Guide/Canada about his charity involvement. Here are the questions and his answers.

1. What charitable organization(s) do you support? A World Fit For Kids!, a non-profit organization that trains inner-city teens and college students to coach and mentor younger kids through healthy activities after school.

2. When did you get involved? In 1997 when the Executive Director told me about the organization and the work they were doing with kids.

3. Why did you choose this charity to become involved in (personal reasons)? I believe that all kids should have access to higher education if they so desire. I had planned to start my own non-profit, but when I heard about A World Fit For Kids! I decided that it was a perfect match for me….the high school kids involved in the program do end up graduating and the majority go on to college. Plus A World Fit For Kids! provides so many additional benefits for kids there are healthy activities to keep kids off the streets after school, teens are given an opportunity to give back to their communities, and mentoring and leadership training and part-time jobs are provided for the teens who need it most. So there are many reasons why I work with this organization.

4. How do you support this cause (donations/organizing or attending events)? I support A World Fit For Kids! by serving as Chair and Spokesperson. I speak on their behalf at special functions and I look for opportunities to raise awareness and financial support for the organization. Last year I appeared on Celebrity Jeopardy and Celebrity Millionaire and raised $42,000 for the charity. Next year we’ll host our own golf tournament and make it an annual event.

5. How can others contribute (donate/volunteer/Web site to find more information)? We can always use financial support to help keep the programs running, so send money! Corporations can help by sponsoring our programs. Other youth organizations can contact our LA headquarters to find out about our training programs and implementing the format of older kids teaching younger kids. People can also check out the web site at www.worldfitforkids.org and look at our wish list to see other items that we need.

6. Comment/Quote. Kids are our future and they deserve a safe, nurturing environment, positive role models and the opportunity to fulfill their dreams and their true potential. This is our goal, and A World Fit For Kids! is a better world for all of us.
