Not everything that happens in Vegas
stays in Vegas...

What happened October 10-11, 2008 was the inaugural Kevin Sorbo Celebrity Golf Tournament. In true Las Vegas style, it included an abundance of fun, but in this case the goal was to generate support for A World Fit for Kids! and raise awareness about the important work we do to help kids create fit and fulfilling lives. Over 100 golfers and celebrities took part in the two-day fundraising event that was exciting and entertaining - and all for a great cause.

The event kicked off Friday night with a pairings party and dinner at Planet Hollywood followed by very funny comedy performances from Mike Burton and Gary Valentine. On Saturday all golfers and celebs were greeted by Maui Jim and Adidas at the DragonRidge Golf Course in Henderson and given a pair of sunglasses and golf shoes before heading out to the links for an 11 a.m. shotgun start.
After a day of great golf and late afternoon cocktails at the country club, players boarded buses and headed back to The Strip for a post-tournament celebration.Three hundred people attended dinner and had the chance to bid on a host of great live and silent auction items including sports memorabilia, Ritz-Carlton vacation travel packages, amazing golf weekends, and much more. They also previewed A World Fit for Kids! new promotional video and were treated to a very special private concert featuring country recording artist Steve Azar and R&B musician Javier Colon. The entertainment, meals, and auction items were amazing, but it was made even more special by the wonderful people who attended in support of Kevin Sorbo and A World Fit for Kids!

Participating celebrities included sports figures Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Jim McMahon, Franco Harris, Kenny Lofton, Ed Jones, and Eric Swann; actors Dennis Haskins, Christopher McDonald, Patrick Warburton and Paula Trickey; musicians Steve Azar, and Javier Colon; and many more!
